Update
OIT Network Operations will be cutting over wired and wireless network authentication systems for all wireless networks and wired networks in the residence halls to the new RADIUS servers. This has multiple impacts for users, which is further detailed in the larger change announcement found here: https://alaska.edu/oit/replace-radius/

Specific changes are as follows:

* Eduroam users will need to "forget" their current connection and use the new onboarding procedures found here: https://alaska.edu/oit/replace-radius/eduroam/
* Students in all residence halls will need to re-whitelist their wired devices after this change is completed for their residence hall. Information can be found here: https://alaska.edu/oit/replace-radius/devices/
* UAGuest users will see a new web portal and user registration process. More information can be found here: https://alaska.edu/oit/replace-radius/access/
* UAlaska users are anticipated to continue operating as they are today without any changes. If users experience troubles, it is recommended to review connectivity information here: https://alaska.edu/oit/services/campus-wireless-network/ualaska/

Users will likely experience disruptions during the activity window and once locations/networks are completed, they will need to use the new methods above for connectivity. Due to the scope of the work involved, it is difficult to provide exact windows or notifications for each network/location that will change. The winter hard closure was chosen as an optimal window to minimize user disruption since most users should not be on campus at this time.

Additionally, this change will encompass rural/remote UAF campuses as we align all wireless networks with the main campus. (An exception to this is Toolik Field Station, which will be phased in at a later date.) All wireless networks across all campuses will be expected to operate the same and current opt in for UAGuest access will be retained. Separate communication methods have been employed to notify these campuses of the changes.
