Enable the Duo External Authentication Method (EAM) for Microsoft 365 accounts by changing the Duo MFA Conditional Access policy from the Duo API method to the Microsoft “Enable multifactor” method.
A recent Microsoft change caused IRU Passport users to experience issues with Microsoft 365 Conditional Access policies. Adding affected users to the Duo External Authentication Method Conditional Access Policy resolved the issue. Enabling EAM for all accounts will provide a consistent authentication experience and help prevent similar application compatibility issues resulting from future Microsoft changes.
